Italian
Dishing up the best Italian is the ever-friendly M Trattoria Stefano (522 S. 8th St., 920/
452-8455, 5pm-9pm Mon.-Thurs., 5pm-10pm Fri.-Sat., $12-28), a casually upscale place
with a bright pastel (and handmade brick) environment. For years a foodie must-stop, com-
ments from readers have begun to mention a bit of a dip here. Hopefully it's an aberration.
BTW, for a more subdued Italian experience, across the street is another of the owner's
ventures: Il Ritrovo (515 S. 8th St., 920/803-7516, www.ilritrovopizza.com , 11am-2pm
and 5pm-9pm Mon.-Thurs., 11am-2pm and 5pm-10pm Fri., 11am-10pm Sat., $11-18), din-
ner with pizza good enough for Naples' authorities to have certified it as OK. If that
weren't enough, Stefano has also opened Field to Fork (511 S. 8th St., 920/694-0322,
www.fieldtoforkcafe.com , 7am-3pm Mon.-Sat., $5-15) next door to the pizzeria—think
locavore deli and light lunch place (love the coney dog).
