Norse decorations on a Fall Festival float in Sister Bay
Coachlite Inn (2544 WIS 42, 800/745-5031, www.coachliteinn.com , from $99) has
rooms that are simple (all have refrigerators) but very well kept. You'll find a nice whirl-
pool/hot tub room.
Updated in 2012, the rooms and new breakfast area make the Open Hearth Lodge (2669
S. WIS 42, 920/854-4890, www.openhearthlodge.com , from $104) stand out. Indeed, the
rooms are very well appointed and they've done a nice job on the grounds as well (there's
even enough room for a bit of hiking in the woods nearby). You'll also find a playground,
indoor pool, and refrigerators in every room.
Like the county “used to be,” and perhaps a steal for such updated old-school charm,
Little Sister Resort (10620 Little Sister Hill Rd., 920/854-4013,
www.littlesisterresort.com , $160andup)sitsinacedarforestsettingsouthofSisterBayoff
WIS 42 near a gorgeous bay. These very comfortable surroundings also cater to families.
You'll need to brew some coffee and take a seat to go through the mind-boggling array of
cabins and chalets, but this place is worth the money unless you're a solo traveler.
