Wright's architecture can be seen many places in Spring Green, like the Frank Lloyd Wright
Visitor Center.
The famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright, a native Badger, melded the natural world
intohisarchitecture.In1938, Time magazinecalledhim“thegreatestarchitectofthe
twentieth century.”
Highlights of Wright's work in Wisconsin include the following:
• In Wauwatosa, west of Milwaukee, check out Wright's “little jewel,” the An-
nunciation Greek Orthodox Church. You can also find examples of Wright's
American-Built System in Milwaukee—homes designed to be affordable for
those of average means. These are on West Burnham Street and Layton
Boulevard (but they're privately owned and not open to the public); check

• Wright's SC Johnson Wax Building in Racine helped Time make its grandiose
claim.
