GETTING THERE
Door County represents the American antipathy toward public transportation. There are no
buses, no trains, and no ferries from points south. (Entrepreneurs are constantly floating
proposals to run a passenger-only ferry to Menominee in Michigan's Upper Peninsula or
other towns from here, but don't count on it.) Wait till you see the auto traffic on a peak
weekend.

popped up (there are none at present), but your only real choices are to fly into Green
Bay and rent a car or take the Door County-Green Bay Shuttle (920/746-0500,
www.doorcountygreenbayshuttle.com , reservations necessary), whose fleet includes a
super-cool retro checker taxi.
