Accommodations and Food
For lodging, go south eight miles on WIS 26 to I-94, where there are tons of chains.
The M Upper Krust (1300 Memorial Dr., 920/206-9202, 6am-9pm Mon.-Sat.,
9am-1:30pm Sun., $3-8) is a creative breakfast/sandwich/hot plate kind of place, but it's
absolutely famed for its killer pies. Traveling businesspeople will take away a dozen at a
time.
The Elias Inn (200 N. 2nd St., 920/261-6262, 5pm-10pm Mon.-Thurs. and Sat.,
4pm-10:30pm Fri., $6) was once a bierstube to which farmers coming into town to do their
banking on Friday would stop off to quaff a brackish tap in a cloudy glass while suit-and-
tie types munched head cheese or homemade venison sausage. Its present incarnation is
straight-up supper club with hints of Midwestern regional cuisine.
M Mullen's (212 W. Main St., 920/261-4278) is a southeastern Wisconsin landmark.
Well into its sixth decade, it's got the best homemade ice cream you'll ever taste and an
interior reminiscent of bygone times.
