Getting Around
In high summer buses go from Merihas to Dryopida (€1.60), continuing to Kanala
(€2.80) or Hora (€1.60). Less regular services run to Loutra (€2.80). Usually buses leave
Merihas from the turn-off to Hora. During term-time the only buses tend to be school
buses.
The best way to see the island is by car or scooter. Rent at Larentzakis Travel Agency
(0): about €30 a day, scooters start at €15.
Taxis (
69442 71609, 22810 32883) cost about €9 to Hora and €7 to Dryopida. A taxi-
boat (
6944906568) to/from beaches in summer costs about €10 return.

Tiny Merihas is home to much of the island's low-season life. Cafes and restaurants line
the small harbour, and rooms for let dot its hills. The best beaches within walking dis-
tance are north of the quay at Episkopi and Apokrousi . There is free wi-fi in the port.
