Amorgos Art Gallery ARTS & CRAFTS

scenes, photography and creations fill this small gallery. Lemons and pomegranates dec-
orate light (as in, easy-on-the-luggage-allowance) bamboo bowls and containers, T-shirts
and even magnets. Shopping here lets you support a talented local artist as well as score
some great souvenirs.

Boats dock right on the waterfront. The bus station is to the left along the main water-
front, on the eastern shore of the bay.
A bank (with ATM) is mid-waterfront and there's an ATM next to N Synodinos. There
is a postal agency next to the Hotel Minoa on the central square.

The old capital of Hora sparkles like a snowdrift across its rocky ridge. It's capped by a
13th-century kastro and guarded by windmills that stand like sentinels on the surround-
ing cliffs. There's a distinct veneer of sophistication, not least in the handful of trendy
bars and shops that enhance Hora's appeal without eroding its timelessness. The main
activity here is wandering, amply rewarded with beautiful village settings around each
corner.
The bus stop is on a small square at the edge of town where there's also car parking.
There's an ATM next to a minimarket right at the entrance to Hora and the village also
has a post office and police station (
