and Hora (€4, 55 minutes) via Batsi (€2, 15 minutes). Schedules are posted at the bus
stops in Gavrio and Hora. Low-season buses are usually timed to meet Rafina ferries.
Taxis ( Batsi 22820 41081, Gavrio 22820 71561, Hora 22820 22171) from Gavrio to Batsi
cost about €10 and to Hora €35.
Roads can be rough and narrow, but many walking paths and sights are only accessible
by car (about €35 in August, €25 in low season).

CYCLADES ISLAND HOPPING
Part of the trick of sculpting an itinerary through the islands is learning which fer-
ries go where, and when. And beware, in low season services are reduced or nonex-
istent on some routes. In high season, a host of companies offer connections
throughout the Cyclades. Check schedules at www.greekferries.gr or
www.openseas.gr . Buy tickets online, directly from the company, or at local ticket
agencies (though agents often represent only some of the companies...ask
around). For example:
» NEL Lines ( Click here ) and Blue Star Ferries ( Click here ) Have a host of crisscross-
ing seasonal routes.
210 419 9000; www.hsw.gr ) Has summer high-speed services.
