PargaΠάργα
POP 2415
Crowned by a Venetian castle, pretty Parga overlooks a curving bay with sandy beach
and little island opposite. The streets of its old quarter are white-plastered and flowery,
with historic chapels and intriguing mu- seums tucked within. Long sandy beaches lie
outside of town, and in high season Parga's waterfront bars are packed. Nevertheless, it's
never truly hectic and little kids can scamper about freely.
The hospitable locals in this former Venetian possession indeed have a certain Italian
resemblance. Parga is a great base for local beaches, historic sites and excursions to Ioni-
an islands.
