What's New
Ancient Akrotiri
Closed for years, this spectacular site has reopened within a protective enclosure. A once
flourishing Minoan settlement, its buildings, ceramics and frescoes have been dug out
from under the ash of Santorini's catastrophic volcanic eruption in 1613. The ruins are all
the more accessible with new boardwalks crossing over and through the city, from where
you can look down and watch archeologists still at work. Take one of the free tours now
offered; the history and mystery of this place is truly intriguing.

Funky Gourmet

art and designer lighting, this fresh Athens restaurant has more degustation menus than
you could shake a smoked ice-cream sandwich at. There is nothing ordinary about this
place.

Artists across Greece are using their work as a means of responding to the country's eco-
