Byzantine Museum MUSEUM

museum presents priceless icons and other Byzantine antiquities such as 5th-century
floor mosaics, marble epigraphy and ornate sarcophagi in a sumptuously lit, three-floor
space complemented by explanatory wall placards.
Church of the Resurrection of Christ CHURCH
( 8.30am-3.30pm Tue-Sun) Veria has dozens of Byzantine churches ; few are open, but
this fresco-rich, 14th-century central church usually is.
Mt Vermio SKIING
( 23310 49226) Some 22km west of town, Mt Vermio has eight slopes and three lifts -
good for beginners.
