The so-called 'New
Malvasia' (confusingly sometimes called simply the Malvasia) is the newer of the
Malvasia-clan hotels and is at the far end of the village. Its 16 small rooms are simple
and modern, housed in an historic building. Breakfast is served in its quaint cafe.

Located outside the
fortress walls, just over the causeway, and occupying the handsome stone buildings of a
former quarantine hospital, Lazareto is the most luxurious choice in the area. The fur-
nishings in the well-equipped rooms are stylishly muted. It's a 15-minute walk to the
kastro
from here. Prices include breakfast.

. You can't really go wrong with any - choose between them for dish type (all
traditional Greek) or ambience. (The village cats like all of them, too.)
Self-caterers will find most things at the Lefkakis supermarket, just past the post office
in Gefyra.
Information
All the practicalities are located in Gefyra. The main street is 23 Iouliou, which runs
south around the coast from the causeway, while Spartis runs north up the coast and be-
comes the road to Molai.
