Getting Around
Stretching 8km end to end, Lipsi is small. In summer, a minibus departs Lipsi Village
hourly to the beaches of Platys Gialos, Katsadia and Hohlakoura (each €1.50) between
10.30am and 6pm. Two
taxis

Hugging the deep harbour, Lipsi Village - the only community on the island - is a cosy,
intimate affair with an atmospheric old town of blue-shuttered houses radiating up the
hill in a web of backstreets. The harbour is the hub of Lipsi's action; there's everything
you need here from an ATM and a great bakery, to delectable seafood restaurants. And

Activities
Liendou Beach
is on the edge of the village, with a narrow strip of sand and shallow,
calm water. It's just north of the ferry port over a small headland. Around 40 minutes'
walk from Lipsi Village, rugged
Gialos Beach
rings with goats' bells, and shelves gently
into Evian-clear water.
Rena and Margarita offer
boat trips
(per person €20)
to Lipsi's offshore islands such as
exquisite Aspronisia and Macronisi (with their sapphire waters and weird rock forma-
tions) for a picnic and swim. Both excursion boats can be found at Lipsi's smaller jetty
