La Vaporetta SEAFOOD $$$
(lunch mains €10, dinner mains €14-25; noon-5pm & 7pm-midnight; ) With its orange
painted floor, giant net billowing across the ceiling and walls finished in old black-and-
white photos, this is a romantic spot for dinner (especially outside by the sea). The menu
excels with carpaccio of swordfish, steak, pasta dishes and Adriatic sea prawns with
rosemary. Finish off with one of their delicious sorbets.

Olive Tree CAFE $
(Horio; light meals €2-5; 8.30am-3.30pm year-round; ) This place is newly re-
located to a fantastic vantage point looking down over Gialos. Sit yourself down beneath
the vine-shaded terrace (with smoking and nonsmoking sections), as you tuck into
smoothies, juices, cakes, quiche, locally sourced salads, homemade cheese and snacks.
You'll find it near the top of Kali Strata.
Giorgos TAVERNA $
(mains €10) Boasting a great view of the bay, Giorgos is traditional from its pebble mosa-
ic terrace to its no-frills menu of Symi lamb, rabbit stew, dolmadhes and sea urchin salad.

(Gialos harbour) This popular harbourfront bar with exposed stone walls, Edwardian velvet
couches and chillsome vibes invokes a cool atmosphere with a 30-something crowd.

Harani Bar BAR
(Gialos harbour; 8am-late) Locals head to Harani for its no-nonsense interior and al-
fresco position on the left-hand corner of the harbour. Happy hour is usually from
6.30pm to 8pm.
