It mainly consists of a capacitor where one plate is a semiconductor film and the
second plate consists of an insulating material with the gate electrode. Two ad-
ditional electrodes, the source and the drain, are deposited on the semiconductor.
When a voltage is applied between source and gate, charges of opposite sign are in-
