added to this solution and total solution was stirred for three hours to get
white color precipitate. h is precipitate was washed with water 3-4 times
to remove traces of NH 4 OH and dried to collect in powder form. h is pro-
cedure yields silica particles which are highly monodispersed.
h is route is highly reproducible, produces monodispersed particles
and gives high yield. As characterization of nanoparticles is done using
spectroscopic and microscopic techniques. h erefore here silica particles
are characterized using SEM and TEM.
h ese particles prepared acts as core for preparation of core-shell nano-
composites like SiO 2 @Ag, SiO 2 @Au etc.
