revealed that the radiocarbon dating scale had been revised, and
Stonehenge 1 had been redated to 2700 b.c. or earlier [ 5A ]. Rerun-
ning the calculations proved Alan's intuitive guesses to be correct
(Fig. 5.3 ) . I confirmed them optically in the planetaria at Jewel and
Esk College, Glasgow Nautical College, Armagh Planetarium and
more recently Glasgow Science Centre [ 5B ] ; nowadays, they can be
verified by any good astronomy program on a PC or laptop.
It might seem they could only be coincidence, because the
position of the galactic center can only be determined using a radio
telescope. The entire galactic coordinate system was reset by the
