The city's street-art scene received further recognition through Banksy, who stencilled
extensively during a visit in 2003. While several of his works remain, many have unfortu-
nately disappeared (some accidentally painted over by unsuspecting workers). Other
prominent international street artists to contribute work to Melbourne's streets include
Blek le Rat (France), Shepard Fairey (USA) and Invader (France).
