pump station, the visitor centre has helpful staff and an accommodation booking service.
Getting Around
Echuca offers an enlightened free bicycle service, called the 'Port Picnic Bike'. Bikes can
be picked up at St Anne's ( Click here ) ; ask there or at the Echuca Visitors Centre for more
information.
Getting There & Away
Echuca lies 222km north of Melbourne. Take the Hume Fwy (M31) and then the well-
signposted turn-off to the B75, which then passes through Heathcote and Rochester en
route to Echuca.
V/Line ( 13 61 96; www.vline.com.au ) has two direct Melbourne-Echuca trains on weekends
and train and bus services (return $24.60, 2¾ hours) on weekdays, with changes at
Bendigo, Murchison, Heathcote or Shepparton.
