Falls Creek, Victoria's glitzy, fashion-conscious resort, combines a picturesque alpine set-
ting with impressive skiing and infamous après-ski entertainment.
Sights & Activities
Skiing at Falls Creek is spread over two areas - the Village Bowl and Sun Valley - with 19 lifts,
a vertical drop of 267m and Australia's longest beginner's run at Wombat's Ramble . Falls is
also the free-ride snowboard capital, with four parks. Night skiing in the Village Bowl op-
erates several times a week.
Other popular winter activities include a bungee trampoline ($12), snow bikes ($45),
snowtubing and tobogganing, snowmobile tours (from $130), kiteboarding (from $70) and

It's not all snow sports though, and Falls has a great summer program , which includes an
outdoor cinema (free) on an inflatable screen, hiking, horse riding and a rock-climbing
wall. The Summit chairlift operates during the summer school holidays (per ride/day $15/25).
Mountain biking is popular here in the green season, with downhill trails, three lift-ac-
cessed trails, spur fire trails, aqueduct trails, road circuits and bike rental (from $55 per
day).
The best local hiking trails include the walk to Wallace Hut , built in 1889 and said to be
the oldest cattleman's hut in the High Country; and Rocky Valley Lake .
