ing tours, including equipment and hot chocolate, starting at the clock tower.

SPA
BIKING MT BULLER
Mt Buller has developed into one of the great summer mountain-biking destinations in Victoria, with a network of
trails around the summit, and exhilarating downhill tracks. From 26 December to the end of January, the Horse
Hill chairlift operates on weekends, lifting you and your bike up to the plateau (all-day lift and trails access $55).
If you're not biking you can still ride the chairlift all day (adult/child $18/13).
From 26 December till the Easter weekend a bus shuttle runs every weekend from the

at the base of the mountain, to the summit car park, from where you can ride all the way back down on a number
of trails. The most popular trail is the
River Spur
(60 to 90 minutes), partly following the Delatite River with 13
river crossings. More challenging is the new one-to-1½-hour
Klingsbourne Trail
. The owners of the Mirimbah
Store (which, incidentally, is also a fabulous cafe) are experienced riders and a mine of information on the trails.
You can hire quality mountains bikes from All Terrain Cycles (

) in Mansfield. During the biking sea-
son it also has a hire service at Buller village.
Sleeping
There are over 7000 beds on the mountain. Rates vary throughout the ski season, with
cheaper rates midweek. A handful of places are open year-round.
