In-Depth Information
There are plenty of great short walks around the town, inlet and in the bush. It's an easy
4km walk or cycle around the inlet to Karbeethong. From there the Bucklands Jetty to Captain
Creek Jetty Walk (one-way 5km, 1½ hours) follows the shoreline of the inlet past the Nar-
rows. The Mallacoota Town Walk (7km, five hours) loops round Bastion Point, and combines
five different walks. Walking notes with maps are available from the visitor centre.
For good surf , head to Bastion Point or Tip Beach. There's swimmable surf and some
sheltered waters at Betka Beach, which is patrolled during Christmas school holidays.
There are also good swimming spots along the beaches of the foreshore reserve, at Bastion
Point and Quarry Beach.
