Right in the city centre, Rosalind Park OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP is a lovely green space, with
lawns, big old trees, fernery and the fabulous Cascades Fountain , which was excavated after
being buried for 120 years. Climb to the top of the lookout tower for sensational
360-degree views or, if you love roses, wander through the Conservatory Gardens .
The White Hills Botanic Gardens , 2km north of town, features many exotic and rare plant
species, a small fauna park, aviary and barbecue facilities.

Bendigo Pottery
( 03-5448 4404; www.bendigopottery.com.au ; 146 Midland Hwy; 9am-5pm) Australia's oldest
pottery works, the Bendigo Pottery was founded in 1857 and is classified by the National
Trust. The historic kilns are still used; watch potters at work, admire the gorgeous ceramic
pieces or throw a pot yourself (half-/full day $15/30). The attached museum (adult/child $8/
4) tells the story of pottery through the ages. It's just over 4km north of the town centre.
POTTERY
O'Keefe Rail Trail
( www.railtrails.org.au ) This hike-or-bike trail, along a disused railway line, starts at Lake
Weeroona and meanders for 23km to Axedale.
