Point Lonsdale, 5km southwest of Queenscliff, is a laid-back community with cafes across
from its family-friendly front beach. From the foreshore car park you can walk to the Rip
View lookout to watch ships entering the Rip, to Point Lonsdale Pier and to the lighthouse.
Along from here is the rugged 'back beach'; swimmers should stay between the flags.

morning tour (they run every half hour) up this atmospheric and still-operational 1902
lighthouse.
