One of the first venues that made the city cool in the early 2000s, Ding Dong has received
a post-modern makeover, but remains one of the city centre's premier rock 'n' roll venues
for smaller touring acts and local bands.

John Curtin Hotel

dents, the John Curtin is a great pub for a beer; it also hosts some great local indie and
rock bands upstairs most nights.

Reverence Hotel

of the much-loved Arthouse, the Reverence takes over as one of the city's best punk and
metal venues, located in industrial Footscray (just up the road from Lonely Planet HQ).
Shows a mix of Australian and internationals, from new- to old-school bands. It also does
a great menu of Mexican food.

The Bendigo

Bendigo is everything that's great about Collingwood: dark, divey and straight down the
line. It's got a great roster of local and international underground bands, with a leaning to-
wards metal and punk. Come Sunday for $10 jugs.
