In-Depth Information
Considering the local neighborhood, discuss what might be an optimal spatial
resolution (pixel size) and which current sensors might provide for such a V-I-S
analysis.
Explain in general how spectral resolution affects detection of various kinds of
V, I, and S, and how spatial resolution would relate to such detection.
Sketch typical spectral reflectance curves of V, I, S, and water, across visible,
near-infrared, and mid-infrared wave bands.
Explain the spectral change when a green field (A) is converted to a shopping
center (B), and place A and B on the V-I-S ternary diagram.
Discuss how ambient air temperatures likely vary with changing V-I-S composi-
tion from the urban core to the urban periphery.
Explain how storm water runoff would likely vary from those same sites.
