and-white hotel sign and a hostel symbol at the edge of town on Ängöleden

(2-3/hour, 5 minutes), or take a taxi for about 70 kr. They rent canoes for ex-
ploring the small bays around Kalmar (120 kr/half-day, 200 kr/day).
Eating in Kalmar
Kalmar has a surprising number of good dining options for a small city. For
lunch, look for the dagens rätt (daily special) for 80-100 kr, which gets you a
main dish, salad, bread, and usually coffee or a soft drink. Many restaurants
in Kalmar offer fixed-price meals at dinner.
