selling fish and meat outdoors. Carl Milles' statue of Orpheus Emerging from
the Underworld (with seven sad muses) stands in front of the city concert hall
(which hosts the annual Nobel Prize award ceremony). The concert house,
from 1926, is Swedish Art Deco (a.k.a. “Swedish Grace”). The lobby (open
through most of summer, 70-kr tours) still evokes Stockholm's Roaring Twen-
ties.
