Smörgåsbord
The smörgåsbord (known in Denmark and Norway as the store koldt bord )
is a Scandinavian culinary tradition. Though locals reserve the smörgåsbord
for festive times such as the Christmas season, anyone can dig into this all-
you-can-eat buffet any time of year at certain hotels and on overnight ferries.
While the word originally referred to a spread of cold cuts, the smörgåsbords
you'll find usually include hot dishes, too.
Seek out a smörgåsbord at least once during your trip, just for the high
of seeing so much wholesome Nordic food spread out in front of you. Good
