A few miles north of Flåm, Aurland is more of a real town and less of a
touristdepot.Whileit'snothingexciting(Balestrand ismorelivelyandappeal-
ing, and Solvorn is cuter—see next chapter), it's a good, easygoing fjordside
home base. And thanks to its location—on the main road and boat lines, near
Flåm—it's relatively handy for those taking public transportation.
Getting There:
