As Denmark's third-largest city, with 166,000 people, Odense is big and in-
dustrial. But its old center, tidy and neatly urbanized, retains some pockets
of the fairy-tale charm it had in the days of H. C. Everything is within easy
walking distance, except for the open-air folk museum.
