to pay in euros or US dollars on this bus line only). Bus #26 does not run on
weekends, when you'll have to consider one of the other options described
next.
Langelinie and Frihavnen are both within about a 15-minute walk of a
train station on Copenhagen's S-tog suburban rail line (Frihavnen is near the
Nordhavn station, while Langelinie is near Østerport station). From either sta-
tion, you can hop on a train headed downtown (buy a 24-kr ticket at machine
on platform, then take any train headed in direction: Køge, Frederikssund,
Ballerup, or Høje Taastrup; ride to the “København H” stop for the main train
station).
From either terminal, you can also take a taxi (figure around 160 kr into
downtownfromLangelinie,or200krfromFrihavnen),ortakea hop-on,hop-
off bus tour (see here ) . From Frihavnen, most cruise lines offer a shuttle bus
straight to Kongens Nytorv and/or Rådhuspladsen (City Hall Square), gener-

pier, cross to the mainland, then either bear left to find The Little Mermaid, or
right to circle around Kastellet Fortress and find Østerport train station for a
speedy train downtown. From The Little Mermaid, you can walk in about 15
minutes to Amalienborg Palace, then 10 more minutes to the colorful Nyhavn
canal.
Frihavnen , a bit farther out, is a sprawling industrial zone with several
cruise piers (called Sundkaj, Orientkaj, Fortkaj, and—farther to the
north—Levantkaj and a brand-new cruise terminal in the works). The first
three piers are all within an easy 5- to 10-minute walk of the port gate (just
follow the thick blue line painted on the sidewalk); from the more distant
Levantkaj, the cruise line offers a free shuttle bus to the gate. Exiting the port
gate, you can bear right to find the stop for bus #26; or bear left out to the
main road, then turn left, walk a long block, cross the street, duck under the
