Cruise Ports
Most cruise ships use one of two main terminals, both north of down-
town— Frihavnen (“Freeport”), about three miles from the city center, and
Langelinie Pier, about a mile closer to downtown (but a pleasant 10-minute
walk north of The Little Mermaid site). A few cruises put in at Toldbod , even
closer to town (just in front of Amalienborg Palace). The Copenhagen Ferry
Terminal, located between the Frihavnen and Langelinie piers, serves DFDS
ferries to and from Oslo (see “By Overnight Boat to Oslo,” later).
Getting Downtown: Handy public bus #26 connects both Langelinie and
Frihavnen to downtown every 20 minutes (24 kr, buy ticket on board, possible
