Sucre is positively overflowing with impressive museums, colonial buildings and ornate
churches. For the best view in town, inquire about climbing the cupula at the national po-

For a dose of Bolivian his-
tory, it's hard to beat this museum where the Bolivian declaration of independence was
signed on August 6, 1825. It has been designated a national memorial and is considered
the birthplace of the nation.
The first score of Bolivian congresses were held in the Salón de la Independencia, ori-
