Prospect Park The Park Slope yoga studio Bend & Bloom teams up with lululemon to offer Thursday
night yoga in Prospect Park. The sessions run for a twilit hour (7-8pm), with instructors representing several of

Riverside Park South Riverside Park stretches down a 4-mile strip of the Hudson broad enough to ac-
commodate 267 acres. Wellness classes are offered at multiple points every summer, usually Zumba and yoga at
West Harlem Piers Park, and tai chi at the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument. Check the website for the latest

Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center Once a month this yoga center introduces the community to their prac-
tice via an open house. The day begins at 10:30am with a lecture and demonstration, followed by a trial class, a
vegetarian meal, and finally an introduction to meditation. If you don't have your own mat, bring a towel to place
over one of their mats. The first or second Saturday of the month.

Yoga to the People As the name suggests, this organization seeks to return yoga to its grassroots origins. Power
vinyasa flow classes are taught in the St. Marks studio for a suggested donation of $10, but nobody tracks it—the
people pay what they can. Classes run 7 days a week, with two special candlelit sessions on Sunday nights. You
can also find traditional hot yoga classes ($8) at the 26th and 27th Street studios; hot yoga ($7) and hot vinyasa
($5) at 38th Street; and power vinyasa flow ($10 suggested donation) and hot yoga ($8) in Brooklyn.
