Ljubljana is home to Slovenia's most important museums of art, history and natural scien-
ce, among others. Admirers of architect and designer extraordinaire Jože Plečnik can tour
the house he lived and worked in for almost 40 years.
ENTERTAINMENT
Ljubljana has a thriving cultural scene, with something for everyone. From autumn through
spring, the calendar is filled with classical music, drama and opera. In summer, nearly
every weekend brings a festival or event, including the city's two-month Ljubljana Festival.
FOOD
We can't say for sure if Ljubljana has the country's best restaurants, but certainly the capit-
al offers the most variety. Naturally you'll find excellent Slovenian restaurants, but also
very good Balkan, Italian and Turkish cooking, and much more.
