» For spectacular scenery, you can't beat Slovenia's highest ski resort, Kanin (1600m to
2300m), which perches above Bovec and can have snow until May. You'll get stunning
views north to Mt Triglav and the Julian Alps, and from the top station you can even
glimpse the Adriatic Sea.
Štajerska & Koroška
» The biggest downhill skiing area is Maribor Pohorje (325m to 1347m) in the hills
south of Maribor, with 40km of linked pistes and 36km of cross-country trails suitable for
skiers of all levels. It offers a ski and snowboard school, equipment rental and floodlit
night skiing, as well as being a good starting point for ski touring through the forested
hills of the Pohorje.
