Krvavec
(1450m to 1971m), in the hills northeast of Kranj, is one of the best-equipped
ski areas in the country, with 20km of pistes and 40km of trails. In addition, you'll find a
number of ski (alpine and telemark) and snowboard schools, equipment rental, a ski shop
and some good restaurants and bars. However, as it's only an hour's drive from Ljubljana,
it's best avoided at the weekends.
