These four-star sister properties are joined at the hip and are good choices if you want to
stay someplace central. The Riviera has 160 rooms, three fabulous swimming pools and
an excellent wellness centre. The Slovenija is somewhat bigger with 183 rooms.
Camp Lucija €

Apr-early Oct; ) This 5.5-hectare campground is below the Seča Peninsula and
south of the marina about 2km from the bus station. It offers all sorts of sporting facilities
and can (and often does) accommodate 1000 guests.

Staro Sidro €

ite in Portorož, the Old Anchor is next to the lovely (and landmark) Vila San Marco. It
specialises in seafood and has both a garden and a lovely terrace overlooking Obala and
Portorož Bay.

San Lorenzo €€
( 690 10 00; Obala 77; mains €9.50-25; noon-11pm) Located on the ground floor
of the Grand Hotel Metropol, this Italian/ Mediterranean restaurant is very fancy-
schmancy and among the finest Portorož has to offer. The wine selection is superb.
MEDITERRANEAN
Pizzeria Figarola €
( 031 313 415; Obala 18; pizza €5.50-8.90) There must be a dozen pizzerias along
Obala but Figarola, with a huge terrace just up from the main pier, is the place of choice.
PIZZA
Papa Chico €

serves 'Mexican fun food' (go figure), including hysterical fajitas.
