By Izola's marina complex, the Delfin is a bit out of the centre but still near the water.
It's a pleasant- enough place on a hill about 1km southwest of Trg Republike and has its
own swimming pool. But it's huge, with 219 rooms, and caters largely to tour groups.
Eating
Izola is the best place on the coast to enjoy a seafood meal. Be careful when you order,
however, and ask the exact price of the fish. As seafood is sold by decagram (usually ab-
breviated as
dag
on menus), you might end up eating (and paying) a lot more than you ex-
pected. And be sure to have a glass of low-alcohol Malvazija, the pale-yellow local white
that is light and reasonably dry.

One of Izola's best restaurants, Sidro is an old standby on the waterfront, strong on sea-
