Getting There & Away
Bus
Buses go to Izola (€1.80), Strunjan, Piran (€3.10, 30 minutes) and Portorož every
half-hour on weekdays. There's a handy bus stop at the corner of Piranška ulica. Some
five daily buses daily make the run to Ljubljana (€11.10, 1¾ to 2½ hours).
Buses to Trieste (€3, one hour) run along the coast via Ankaran and from Muggia
Monday to Saturday. Destinations in Croatia include Rijeka (€11.20, two hours) and Rov-
inj (€12, three hours) via Poreč (€10, two hours).
Train
Half a dozen trains a day link Koper to Ljubljana (€10.70, 2½ hours, 153km) via
Postojna and Divača. To get to Buzet and Pula in Croatia from Koper, you must change at
Hrpelje-Kozina (€2.90 to €5.90, 30 minutes, 37km, five daily) for any of three trains a
day.
Getting Around
Bus
Local buses 1 and 2 link the bus and train stations to the eastern edge of Cankarjeva
ulica in the Old Town, with a stop near Muda Gate.
Parking
Parking in much of the Old Town is severely restricted - or banned altogether -
between 6am and 3pm. Leave your vehicle in the pay car parks along Pristaniška ulica.
