This wonderful site - some 300m from the main
road on an isolated horse ranch in a forest clearing - is as close to paradise as we've been
for a while. Pitch a tent or stay in one of the little wooden cabins or the unique tree tents,
great pouches with air mattresses suspended from the branches.

Slovenia's more unusual hostels is in Podkoren, 3km west of Kranjska Gora. It's a three-
room affair in a traditional farmhouse with a decent- sized kitchen and common room. It's
ideally suited to skiers who want to be close to the Podkoren lifts or hikers who see the re-
latively remote location as an advantage.

This atmospheric old 66-bed place on the Sava Dolinka River in Čičare is about 800m
northeast of the centre and just across the main road from the TGC Shopping Centre.
