Radovljica

The town of Radovljica is filled with charming, historic buildings and blessed with stun-
ning views of the Alps, including Mt Triglav. It was settled by the early Slavs, and by the
14th century had grown into an important market town centred on a large rectangular
square, today's Linhartov trg, and fortified with high stone walls. Amazingly, much of the
original architecture is still standing and looks remarkably unchanged from those early
days. Radovljica has just a couple of places to stay, so it's advisable to book accommoda-
tion in advance or turn to the tourist information centre to snag a private room. It's an easy
day trip from Bled, just 7km away.
