ICE CREAM
Drinking
Ljubljana offers a dizzying array of drinking options, whether your tipple is beer, wine
and spirits or tea and coffee. In summer the banks of the Ljubljanica River are trans-
formed into essentially one long terrace and serve as the perfect spot on which to perch
yourself, drink and people-watch. In practice there's often little distinction between 'pubs
and bars' and 'cafes and teahouses'. Most cafes also serve beer and wine, and many pubs
and bars start the day out as cafes before morphing into nightspots after sundown.

Sun; ) A super-popular student hang-out west of Slovenska cesta, with manga comic-
strip scenes and figures running halfway up the walls. There's a great garden terrace for
summer evening drinking, but try to arrive early to snag a table. Also excellent for morn-
ing coffee.
