Eating
Ljubljana has Slovenia's best selection of restaurants. In addition to excellent Slovenian
cooking, you'll find several good restaurants featuring Balkan cuisine (mostly grilled meats
and the like) from former Yugoslav compatriots Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia. Although
prices tend to be higher in Ljubljana than elsewhere, it is still possible to eat well at moder-
ate cost; even the more-expensive restaurants usually offer an excellent-value three-course

Be sure to plan a meal at this marvellous traditional Slovenian
restaurant during your visit to the castle. The chefs pride themselves on using only
Slovenian-sourced breads, cheeses and meats, and age-old recipes to prepare a meal to re-
