Parc de Bruxelles
Copying Versailles, the Habsburg empress Maria Theresa of
Austria (Marie-Antoinette's mom) had this symmetrical park
laid out in 1776, when she ruled (but never visited) the city. This is
just one of many large parks in Brussels, which expanded with an
awareness of the importance of city planning.
