Expo 2015
In 1851, the world's first Expo took place in London exhibiting the 'Works of Industry of
all Nations.' It featured 25 countries and from the profits emerged the Victoria & Albert
Museum, the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. With 131 countries
signed up, Milan is looking forward to hosting one of the biggest Expos
( www.expo2015.org ) ever, starting on 1 May 2015 and running for six months. The theme
is food, of course!

Get up close and personal with The Last Supper in the soft glow of an extended, after-hours
Tickitaly tour between 7pm and 9pm.
Ansaldo Workshops
To see the craft behind La Scala's world-class opera, including a peak at some 60,000 cos-
tumes, take a workshops tour at 3pm every Tuesday and Thursday.
MiArt
Under the direction of Vincenzo de Bellis, Milan's contemporary art fair now features 61
international galleries as well as the city's finest public and private art institutions, includ-
ing the Prada and Trussardi Foundations.
IATM
Milan's new city transport app ( www.atm-mi.it ) features a handy interactive map, detailing
your nearest bus and tram stops. It's especially useful if you're staying in the south and
west of the city where metro coverage is less extensive.
