LAKE GARDA & AROUND
Poets and politicians, divas and dictators, they've all been drawn to the sunny shores of
Lake Garda. Opulent art nouveau villas line the western shore, many of them converted to
luxury hotels. To the north the lake narrows between soaring mountains, making the resorts
of Gargnano and Riva an excellent base for activity holidays, while to the east and south,
rolling vineyards and olive groves offer plenty of farmstay accommodation and resort spas.
