A lovely place
to stay is the Locanda del Giglio, in Roveredo, Capriasca, 12km north of Lugano. It is a
warm timber building powered by solar energy. Rooms have balconies offering mountain
views and even lake glimpses. Take a bus from Lugano to Tesserete (30 minutes) and
change there for another to Roveredo (about 10 minutes).

From the balconies of the front rooms you look straight out over Lago di Lugano - some
of the best hotel-room views in the city. There are other cheaper rooms scattered about the
hotel. Rooms are comfortable, with some antique furniture.
