Torri del Benaco
POP 2850
Picturesque Torri del Benaco is one of the most appealing stops on the eastern bank.
Another 14th-century Scaligero castle, remodelled from the town's 10th-century walls,
overlooks a pint-sized harbour filled with swaying yacht masts. Arranged around a single,
cobbled street, Corso Dante, are ivy-draped, 16th-century palazzi , relics of a past prosper-
ity when Torri del Benaco was a thriving financial centre, levying customs duties on lake
traffic.
